We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to getting back on your bikes in January. There are a number of regional races already in the diary for the new year, details below. You may notice the wintry theme in the event names, so do ensure riders have plenty of layers, thick socks and good gloves if racing in winter! These events will all be useful for getting fit ahead of the spring race programme that will take place across the region from March onwards.
Chilly City Crits are a series at Lee Valley Velopark on the outdoor circuit. These are promoted by BC Eastern Region Youth Workgroup comprising CC Hackney, Islington CC, Full Gas Racing & London Youth Track League with racing for all youth categories.

LVYCC Freezing Cold Races are being held at Redbridge Cycling Centre, Ilford, promoted by Lee Valley Youth Cycling Club.

Limited Edition Cycling Go-Ride Winter Series has already seen Round 1 take place in December. These are aimed squarely at the novice rider so if you’ve not raced outside Preston Park before, these would be ideal.
Round 2 – Sunday, 21 January 2024 at Cyclopark, Gravesend.
Round 3 – Sunday, 18 February 2024 at Herne Hill Velodrome, London.
London and South East Cyclo Cross League comes to Brighton on Sunday, 04 February. You don’t need to have competed in the league before to enter, so this is ideal for novice racers and it’s right on our doorstep at Preston Park. A cross bike or mountain bike will be required. Entries aren’t open yet so keep an eye on their website for details.
The first big race of Spring is already available to enter. VC Londres Deux Jours de Cyclopark takes place at Cyclopark, Gravesend on the weekend of 23-24 March. This one will fill up so sign up soon.
