As posted previously we are running an open morning tomorrow (Saturday 24th June) for 8-16 years olds, as part of Brighton and Hove City Council’s TAKEPART Festival of Active Living and also British Cycling’s Summer of Cycling campaign. Both organisations have provided funding for marketing and giveaways.
Existing members are welcome to attend but it will be a bit different from normal, especially for Outer Ring riders. The focus will be very much on skills activities, obstacle courses and fun races. So it’s pretty much normal service for Inner Ring, but older riders, please do not come expecting a workout!
Sessions are running at 9, 10 and 11am and will last for 60 minutes each. Existing members are welcome to come for a single 60 min slot in order that we have space for taster riders.
If we are over subscribed then we will prioritise taster riders over existing members as this is an open taster morning, after all. If this happens, please don’t be disappointed, and instead think of new friends to be made who may join in future weeks! Remember, there are still 63 acres of park to explore if you cannot ride at the velodrome.
Club members who do turn up and ride will likely be called on to demonstrate skills and to provide pacing for group activities. We have coaches, registration and gate volunteers all sorted but if any parents want to stick around and chat to parents of taster riders about life at PPYCC you’d be most welcome!
