Well done to all riders who took part in today’s distance challenge, the first of the year. We try to run three of these every season and it’s a great way for riders to see their progression both within the season and across multiple years.
Conditions were cold with a headwind on the back straight so it was difficult conditions, despite this we recorded 9 personal bests. Particular mention must go to all of our new riders who were doing this activity for the first time and to those who stepped up to a longer distance. We know it’s a tough activity but it gives you a benchmark that you can now track your progress against over time. The coaches were really impressed with all of your efforts! A special mention must go to James Neale who got a PB at Parkrun and then rocked straight up to his first ever 10 mile time trial and achieved a bronze-standard time – truly impressive!
Results are available on our Distance Challenge page, just click the link to the Inner Ring or Outer Ring sheet depending on which session you attended. All rides have been given Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum status against the club’s Distance challenge standards. Inner Ring riders, there is space towards the back of your rider passports where you can enter your times.
Well done to all riders, and a big thankyou to all of our volunteer lap counters for keeping track of the riders!
