Club road ride Sunday 9th April – with alternative meeting arrangement!

Club road rides continue on Sunday 9th April for riders aged 12 and older.  Please contact the ride leader Charlie Booth if you have any questions – 07434 691462

Riders must have parental permission to ride. Parents are encouraged to come along.

The route will be decided on the day and be tailored for all abilities.

BECAUSE THE BRIGTON MARATHON IS TAKING PLACE AT PRESTON PARK ON SUNDAY MORNING WE WILL MEET AT 10AM OUTSIDE CAFE TILT AT FIVEWAYS (134 Preston Drove, Hove, Brighton BN1 6FJ) MAKE SURE  YOU CHECK ON THE MARATHON WEBSITE TO SEE WHICH ROADS ARE CLOSED. YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CROSS SOME JUNCTIONS EVEN ON A BIKE. I STRONGLY CAUTION AGAINST DRIVING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN BECAUSE OF LIKELY CONGESTION.

(For younger readers a marathon is a mass participation 40km run, Older readers will  course know that it is really a caramel chocolate bar with peanuts in the middle)

There will be no charge  but the nature of these rides is that a higher level of self-sufficiency is required. This means riders should be capable of safe return if they become separated from the group and that suitable clothing and equipment are used. Thus there should be no new participants without prior agreement.

The rides are not coached sessions and there is not an organiser with legal responsibility for other riders. A club ride is simply a group of riders on a joint excursion on the open road which may include sections on busy roads and descents. Riders participate at their own risk and are expected to obey the Highway Code at all times.

Please ensure your bikes are road worthy this includes using tyres that are not worn or suffering cuts and nicks. Bad weather cancellations will be posted on the website by 9am
