Both Freddie Newman and Lloyd Costello competed in the first stage of the National Youth Series at Hetton – Le – Hole in Tyne and Wear on Sunday 17th April.
The start was delayed by one and a half hours which did not help with the pre-ride nerves but both riders rode really well. The pack very quickly split into two groups with Freddie and Lloyd riding comfortably in the second group.
Not sure yet of their finishing positions but they both finished mid way in the second group – They were certainly not with those who were left behind.
Freddie disappointed with his position but Lloyd well pleased with his first effort at a National event.. He is also pleased that there are two pictures of him on the BC/Flicker web site.
Bit of a long way to go for a bike ride but well worth it to see the look on Lloyd’s face when he finished.
