This year the Omnium regions and participating clubs have been re-organised, and consequently PPYCC have riders representing the club at both the South and London Region Omniums. First report available is from yesterday’s competition in Welwyn, news from Bournemouth on Saturday to follow!
It was a cold and windy, but mercifully dry, day at Welwyn Wheelers home track yesterday for the 1st round of the London Region of the Youth Track Omnium.
Freddie Newman, Lukas Nerurkar, Josh Golliker and Rahul Fortescue Talwar were in Youth C, riding in a large group at full capacity of 25 riders. All the boys rode competitively and with confidence and style. Lukas finished 3rd overall, Freddie 9th, Rahul 12th and Josh 15th. Georgina Burnett rode in the Youth B girls, with some great tactical and smooth riding, and was placed 4th overall. Noah Ridgeway Brown rode his first year in Youth A, in a very fast, competitive and large group, and was gained an impressive 12th place.
A massive WELL DONE to all our riders, who were all a credit to PPYCC both on and off the track throughout the day!
