We are fortunate this year to have 2019 British Cycling Regional Youth Championships nearby in Eastbourne on Saturday 27th July. They are being held as part as part of the Eastbourne Cycling Festival.
The youth championship races will be held between 11:00 and 15:00 on a criterium circuit comprising closed roads along Eastbourne seafront and surrounding streets. Youth E starts first at 11:00 working up to Youth A at 14:00, with separate boys and girls races in each age group. You can enter on the British Cycling website events page.
If you plan to race then please enter as soon as possible as the organisers have announced that races with no entries next week may be cancelled to make way for other events. We’re not sure whether the championship events are affected by this policy but entries are currently very low across all age groups and it would help the event organisers hugely to know that there is demand for youth racing!
With loads of other bike-related activities happening throughout the day this should be a really good, fun event and a great opportunity for PPYCC riders to compete against other regional clubs in a fun and friendly environment, and maybe scoop up a championship medal on the way!
