PPYCC riders are invited to ride in the Puncheur Cycle Sportive on Sunday 2th March – starting and finishing in Ditchling.
A Sportive is an organised, mass-participation cycling event. Riders are timed and can aim to achieve a set time for the distance. There are also feed stations and technical back up provided. Riding with hundreds of other riders is also very motivating and exciting.
The Puncheur Sportive is 65 miles long and finishes with the legendary climb of Ditchling Beacon! However, PPYCC members have been given special permission to attempt a shortened course of 50 miles (cutting a few corners) whist riding as a team under coach supervision. We have also been offered discounted entry at £10, worth it for the food alone! If you only fancy riding half the distance you can arrange to be collected at the half way feed station at Saint Hill near East Grinstead
To ride with the club you must be 12 or over and have your parents’ permission. You will also need to have done some longer training rides before the day. This ride is well suited to riders who have regularly riden on the Winter Club Rides.
To reserve a place or ask a question you will need to contact Charlie at charlie@ppycc.org.uk. Do not just turn up on the day. Do not try and book through the Puncheur website.
