PPYCC are once again hosting a round of the National Youth Omnium on Sunday 13th May.
Even if you are not entering the National Series you can still enter this one-day event. We have always had a great turnout of club members, across all age groups, enter this event, and is a brilliant opportunity for riders to gain racing experience at regional level.
Only U14 and U16 count towards the points series, so U8, U10 and U12 are just for fun, which always makes it a relaxed and enjoyable day’s racing.
For those of you not familiar with the Omnium, think of it as the decathlon of track cycling. There are five different events – Time Trial, Elimination Race, Scratch Race, Sprint and Points Race. Points are awarded for each race and totalled up at the end. There are five age categories, with separate races (and prizes!) for boys and girls. Under 8’s boys and girls will be combined into one category.
All races must be on an approved fixed wheel bike, so some previous experience of track riding is required.
Entry details can be found here

Please also feel free to discuss with our coaches at a Saturday session for more insight into, and advice on, the event
As always, this event could not run without the tremendous support of all our volunteers. If you feel that you would be able to give some time to support the club on the day, please contact our Omnium Event Organiser, Paul Wilson, paul
