It’s nearly time for PPYCC 2023 club championships and we’re looking forward to seeing some great racing as always.
For each age category there will be bronze, silver and gold medals as well as a combativity prize. As usual, the engraved winners trophies and medals will be awarded at the end of season’s AGM and Awards event, which will be on the afternoon of Sat 18th November.
A detailed race programme will be issued nearer the day but in essence, please just come along at normal times for your IR or OR session and your race will be within that time slot.
Please remember that to ensure fair racing we do expect riders to adhere to British Cycling age category gear restrictions and we’ll be checking gears before racing starts. The British Cycling instructions provide further information on how to set your bike up and our coaches and other parents will be able to help too, so please just ask if you need help. The restricted gear helps young riders to develop their pedalling technique, particularly high cadence, avoids injuries from riding too large a gear and ensures fairness in racing.
Age categories for this years championships depend on the year the rider was born:
Youth E (U8) – 2015 & 2016
Youth D (U10) – 2013 & 2014
Youth C (U12) – 2011 & 2012
Youth B (U14) – 2009 & 2010
Youth A (U16) – 2007 & 2008
