British Cycling have released details of monthly Go-Ride Cluster and Development Centre sessions at Lee Valley velodrome, starting in October and running once a month on Sunday mornings. These are open to ALL riders aged 10 or above.
Go-Ride Clusters are for newer and younger riders, aged 10-16. Sessions will include novice groups for first timers learning to ride the track and intermediate groups for those who are more experienced.
Development Centres are for riders looking to start racing, or are already racing, aged 12-18. Riders will need to be competent, confident and safe riding on all parts of the track in a bunch, so these riders will have already completed Go-Ride novice sessions or other track sessions. These sessions will have a more physical training focus than Go-Ride Clusters while still progressing skills and tactics.
Don’t hang around to book your place on the Go-Ride Clusters or Development Centres, it’s a bit of an early start for a Sunday morning but these are fantastic opportunities for younger riders to ride on the Olympic velodrome and are likely to get booked up very quickly!
