A message from Ben Miller of Brighton Excelsior reminds us that:
“Summer is in full swing now and there’s plenty of events already scheduled in. Next month its the Eastbourne cycling festival road races. The youth events this year will also be the South East Regional Road Race Championships, so winning this event could see you be crowned the best in the south east!!! If you have not been before its great day out and well supported by the local community, the road races themselves are all on closed roads which makes it a fast sweeping circuit. If you have not tried road racing before this is a really good event to start with.
Race times and categories are as follows:
9:45 – 3rd Cat Road Race
11:00 – U16 & U14 SE Youth Champs
12:15 – U8, U10, U12 SE youth Champs
14:30 – 4th Cat Road Race
All these races are open events so anyone can enter, you may need a day British cycling racing licence but that’s it.
As with all these events we do need some help with sign on and judging. They are simple roles and full training will be given, they really do make you as much part of the event than the racers. Also as an added incentive, if you are able to help out for either road race I will offer you free entry into the relevant road race for your category, or if your kids will be racing free entry for them.”
Enter in advance here, or on the day.
