Well done to all Inner Ring riders who took part in today’s distance challenge. For those who haven’t taken part in a distance challenge before, it’s a time trial on the track where we set the riders off individually at 15 second intervals and they complete a set number of laps depending on age group, in as short a time as possible. We try to run three of these every season and it’s a great way for riders to see their progression both within the season and across multiple seasons.
Conditions were not the best today for time trialling and the riders did really well to keep going through a couple of short rain showers! Most riders were slower than usual due to this, but despite the weather there were still a few impressive personal bests. Particular mention must go to all of our new riders who were doing this activity for the first time, we know it’s a tough activity but it gives you a benchmark that you can now track your progress against over time. The coaches were all really impressed with your efforts, well done!
Results are available on the Results Sheet, which you can find any time via our Distance Challenge website page. Your rides have been given Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum status against the club’s Distance challenge standards. There is also space towards the back of your rider passports where you can enter your times in order that you don’t have to keep coming back to the website.
Well done to all riders, and a big thankyou to all of our volunteer lap counters for keeping track of the riders!
