Last weekend was a big one for PPYCC’s budding young Triathletes with 5 members competing at Brighton Triathlon and 1 at the Bognor Regis KidsTri event.
At Brighton all 5 competitors were in the TriStar 1 category (9-10yrs) with Vincent placing 1st, Luke 4th, Paolo 12th and Arthur 16th in the TS1 Open category and Edie 2nd in the Girls! This race was a 200m sea swim, 4km cycle and 1.2km run on Brighton seafront, a great ‘home’ experience although sadly the bike leg was mistakenly cut short which limited the gains that our strong bike riders were able to make!
At Bognor, Cooper came in 8th place in TS2 (11-12yrs) which was a 200m pool swim, 4km cycle and 1.6k run, and he looks to have protected his top three place in the overall series (results are not yet finalised). One race remains in the Kids Tri series in 4 weeks time.
Well done to everyone for some great results. We love to see our members out competing in other sports and PPYCC riders traditionally do well at Triathlon due to their superb speed and stamina on the bike!
