There is no club session at Preston Park this Saturday 25th June. However the VC Jubilee will be present at the track and will be happy to host our riders for the regular time of 10.00 to 12.00, [take your club fees as usual and pay to Sally Page or her designated person]. This is also the afternoon of the Take Part Festival, which is a great afternoon for the family. Thus there is the prospect of an exciting day in the park.
Our planned club activity is to the British Schools Cycling Association National Hill Climb Championships. We have 9 riders entered in this race in a beautiful part of the Hampshire Downs. After the race [which will last just a few minutes] we will have a picnic and then go for an off-road ride on the Downs. If you are not entered you are still welcome to join us for the picnic, the off-road ride and to cheer on your team mates. If anyone wishes to go and does not have transport then please contact anthony@ppycc.org.uk and we will try to sort something out. For those entered in the race it is a really good idea to bring some rollers or a turbo trainer to warm up for your race. The race programme with timings and venue map can be found here BSCA hill climb programme.
If anyone reading has, or knows someone who has, a tandem then from 12.00 to 13.00 at Preston Park is a Ride for the Partially Sighted and they would welcome anyone who can turn up to give these people a ride around the park on the tandems. This is being organised by Sally Page from VCJ.
