British Cycling Young Volunteers scheme

14-18 year old members may be interested to know about British Cycling’s Young Volunteers scheme which helps young people to build up their skills while helping their club and the wider sport. The Cycling Award for Young Volunteers is a structured programme with bronze, silver and gold awards and has options to get involved in coaching, race planning and delivery, and club management. Each of these areas will build different skillsets and will be a really valuable addition to your CV, college applications, etc. Additionally, volunteers who complete the programme can apply to join British Cycling’s Young Leaders Academy and those aged 16+ can apply to join British Cycling’s National Youth Forum or work towards a formal coaching qualification.

For more info please see https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/youngvolunteers and please register your interest by emailing chair@ppycc.org.uk. Once we know numbers and names then we can organise a Zoom session with a British Cycling official to talk through the programme in more detail.
