Sussex Cycle Racing League (SCRL) are holding an end of season Omnium in honour of PPYCC founder and SCRL President Vern McClelland, who recently passed away. Taking place on the morning of Sunday August 18th from 9:30am to 2pm, it promises to be the perfect way to end the track season at Preston Park.
You do not need to have raced at previous SCRL events to race, and any track accredited PPYCC member can enter – following a summer of track sessions that should be almost everyone! Please check with the PPYCC coaches if you are unsure whether you’re track accredited. There will be four races on offer in each age group – Scratch, Tempo, Elimination and Points – and entry costs just £8, which is good value for a full morning of racing.
For those that need additional motivation to race, there will be cash prizes all the way down to the youth minor category for the top three riders in each gender (although these will be in the way of vouchers for the youngest) as well as additional prizes from sponsors for individual races. There are also rumours of cake.
