PPYCC have an opportunity to book a Saturday afternoon session at Lee Valley Velodrome, that’s the Olympic one in London if you’ve not been before! It’s expensive to book so we need to be able to commit to rider numbers before we send in an application.
The session will be on a Saturday at 16:00 to 18:00, we can request any Saturday from April to June but will aim for a date in May/June which gives any interested younger club riders time to get track bike experience at Preston Park first, which is a requirement. Lee Valley is a world-class indoor track that is absolutely exhilarating to ride on and always a memorable experience! We will have the whole track to ourselves for the 2 hours, it is not a shared event, so will get maximum riding time.
We have setup a Google Form, if you are interested then please add your contact details and preferred dates on the form by THURSDAY THIS WEEK. Apologies for the short short notice, the invite from Lee Valley came out quite late! Due to the expense of the venue, filling out the form will be a commitment to attend, so please only tick dates you know you can make, we will then request the most popular date and let you know which one we are applying for. As soon as we get confirmation our booking is successful then we’ll send out a payment link.
The cost will be £20 maximum to cover the venue costs, possibly lower once we know numbers attending. You’ll need to organise your own transportation to the velodrome and back (car sharing is of course encouraged). Riders must be 10+ and have previous track bike experience, and we will provide opportunities for that to happen at Preston Park through March and April for those riders who commit to the booking. Riders aged 10-11 will need to bring a track bike (we have small track bikes at Preston Park we can loan out) while riders aged 12 and above can hire a bike from the venue if needed (track bike with helmet £12 , shoes £7, gloves £3).
Please let us know by EOP THURSDAY 24TH FEB if interested as we need to know that we have enough interest due to the high venue cost. We have 16 places available so its first come, first served!
Unfortunately the invite is for PPYCC club members only and we cannot invite guests to make up the numbers for this session, these are venue rules, not ours.
