A few plucky riders and parents braved the wet conditions of south east London on Sunday for round 2 of the National Youth Omnium series.
The all weather track of Herne Hill makes racing in the rain an option, if a little terrifying to watch.
Eddy and Noah were racing in the U16 category with the largest field of 25 riders. Noah put a disappointing elimination race behind him and raced with great determination to pick up some points in the final event – finishing 17th overall. Eddy had a great day out, thoroughly enjoying himself in the miserably wet conditions and finished on the podium in 3rd place.
Felix came in 13th in the U14 category, racing well in each event – just lacking a little experience with placement for the sprints.
And Raphael did a great TT and Keirin in the U12 category to finish 9th in the overall standings.
Round 3 at Preston Park is up next, there are still spaces to race in all categories. And we’re keeping our fingers crossed for better weather.
