As we cancelled the session yesterday here is some club news to make up for it.
Noah at the Track Omnium National Final
Noah Ridgway-Brown was our only representative who qualified for the Omnium National Final which took place last weekend. Noah came 10th overall out of a field of 35 qualifying riders. We are told that he started with a mediocre first time trial event where he came 15th. He then really worked hard to claw himself back to his target top 10 position and to be the highest placed rider in the SE region.
Noah’s father, Andrew, commented that the leading riders were very physically developed and asides from regular hours on indoor velodromes through winter, also do several gym sessions in the week. Certainly if you wish to reach the top level in the sport there is much work to do. However it is worth noting that many riders do use top racing equipment, something for the club to decide whether to help with in the future.
Can you ride up Ditchling Beacon three times consecutively?
PPYCC riders Izzy Stone, Isaac Wright and Joe Hill all did this today. Well done to them; have any other members achieved this feat?
