Cyclo cross league results

Well done all all PPYCC riders who took part in the London and South East CX League over the winter. A total of 16 riders from PPYCC competed at the league, of which 7 were trying it out for the first time, so a big well done all of those riders who braved the mud and the cold, you looked like you all enjoyed it!

There were 10 rounds across the region, about half of which were within striking distance of Brighton and Hove. While some of the first timers just did a couple of races, a dedicated handful racked up 6 or more events including Luke, Megan, Noah and Hadley and their results speak for themselves. It was also great to see Alfie riding in PPYCC colours as a junior. These were all hard fought races with fields of 40+ riders in many of the age groups. Well done to all riders on their results!

There was also a Sussex League within the main London and South East league, for the highest placed Sussex-based riders at the 4 Sussex-hosted events. PPYCC featured highly with Luke 1st and Vincent 4th in U10M, Edie 4th in U10F, Cooper 3rd in U12M, Felix 3rd in U14M, Megan 1st in U14F, Idha 2nd in U16F and the U16 Boys taking much of the top ten with Eddy 4th, Hadley 5th, Noah 6th, Ben 8th, Luca 9th and Milo 10th. Well done everyone!

The final event of the league was the team championships at Ardingly where PPYCC put forward an U10/12 team comprising Edie, Luke, Cooper and Harley who came 7th out of 20 teams in their category. There were a few other riders including Milo and Alfie who rode within mixed club teams but the results only show team names and not individuals so we’re not sure where they placed, but a big well done to all of you!

A big thanks to the league and event organisers, all the host clubs and their volunteers for another excellent winter CX series!
