A big congratulations to U12 rider Charlie Bunting who attended the European Junior Cycling Tour at Assen in the Netherlands last week and won his age group!
This annual race comprised five (very wet!) stages over five days based around the Dutch town of Assen: a prologue, criterium, points race, time trial and another criterium to finish. Charlie’s category featured 50+ riders from UK, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Denmark and even Hong Kong. Many riders have attended Assen in PPYCC colours over the years but it’s not been run for a few years due to covid. Hopefully Charlie will inspire more riders to attend in the years to come!
With strong performances in each race including wins in several stages, Charlie eventually brought home the yellow jersey. Well done from all of us at PPYCC!
